Machine learning is a form of artificial intelligence where systems learn from data, identify patterns and make decisions on their own. In Widex MOMENT and EVOKE hearing aids, SoundSense Learn technology has hearing aid users listen to sound profiles suggested by an app on their smartphones. The user is presented with simple sound profiles via A/B comparisons, then listens and compares the sound profiles, and selects their preference for either A or B. The users’ choices are then fed back into a machine learning system, the Widex Cloud, where the process continues and new intelligent sound profiles are presented to other users. The SoundSense Learn feature constantly improves the personalized sound settings for various listening environments and is available to MOMENT and EVOKE wearers—right in the moment when they need them.

Widex hearing aids automatically react to different listening environments with Fluid Sound Analyzer technology, and the Fluid Sound Controller automatically adjusts device settings to those different environments. This feature is known as SoundClass Technology and minimizes the need for additional dedicated programs. It distinguishes between settings with speech and without speech to allow for both comfort and clarity in any environment.
